Morning Lindsey. I hope you have dried out after our Lake Vyrnwy trip yesterday 😂.
I just wanted to thank you for what for me was a very special day. You were a wonderful host, and your help and expertise were not only much appreciated but given in such a way as to stick in the mind. Thanks also for driving. Spending the day with you and 'S' was an absolute pleasure.

I am just emailing to thank you for the workshop at Dudmaston last week. It has given me a lot of useful tips, and encouragement to take a little more time thinking about composition and camera settings

Thank you so very much for the lovely morning I spent with you last Thursday. Weather and situation perfect and I am so grateful for your patience and advice.
I enjoyed wandering down to the lakes after you left and met and took photos of the goslings. I feel so much more confident about the phone and now must practice.

We cater for all levels whether you are:

  • New to photography and want some 1:1 time with clear instruction and tuition in a supportive environment?
  • A keen amateur who knows the basics well and want the chance to spend time focusing on improving your technique?
  • An experienced photographer who wants to capture images from one of the most picturesque areas in the UK?
  • My aim will be to help you enjoy learning your craft, with new locations and challenges whilst seeing much more of what Shropshire has to offer as well as having some fun along the way.

One to One Photography Tuition

£115.00 - £195.00

The aim - will be to improve your understanding of the key settings in a practical way. We will discuss your specific needs well ahead of your day to make sure it gives you what you want in terms of experiences and opportunities.

The Location - Shropshire is a wonderful county and offers many opportunities to practice and improve our photography. Our starting base will normally be the world Heritage site of Ironbridge with many opportunities to capture the buildings and life in the gorge before heading off to the hills for some spectacular views. We also offer 1:1 workshops to meet your needs: i.e wildlife parks, City streets, Black and white or the Black Country Living museum.

Important aspects.

Fitness levels – most of our work will be within a few hundred yards of the road/track so a reasonable level of fitness is helpful. We will not be climbing, scrambling or fell walking, this is meant to be a photography experience so as long as you are comfortable carrying your photography gear 3-400 yards at most you will be fine.

Photographic kit – landscape work suits longer exposures so a tripod is essential ( we have spares should you need one), alongside your camera, spare batteries and memory cards and a polarizing filter if you have one.

Clothing – we are going to be in and out of the car frequently so you should work on layers (always a good idea). Waterproof coat and trousers is a must – and stout waterproof boots as nobody likes sitting in soggy socks. T shirts and fleeces are a good idea as it could be chilly or hot, often in the same hour.

Personal insurance – talking of everything being covered you might want to take out personal insurance (if you don’t have a policy already) to cover your deposit if you are not able to come at the last minute as well as insurance for any damage/loss to your kit.

We will have still water, some chocolate and cake with us in the car and will fit in a cafe or tea stop during the day.

If all of the above is included What’s not

•   Travel to and from Ironbridge

•   All meals, drinks and snacks not listed above

•   Personal and equipment insurance

Available as a half or whole day tuition. So, there you are, a great chance to enjoy developing your photography and take in the wonderful scenery of this area whilst being chauffeured around and having some fun.

£115.00

The aim - will be to improve our understanding of the key settings for street work in a practical and non competitive way that allows everyone to progress at their pace, supported 1:1 as well as in the group

The Location - Birmingham - our second city. Birmingham probably has our broadest spread of architecture, culture and people the UK has to offer with so many opportunities to practice and improve our photography. Our starting base will be New Street station- beneath the clock and information boards, where else? This workshop will start at new street at 10.30am and aim to finish around 3.30-4pm.

Important aspects.

Fitness levels – We will be walking around he city between locations but a reasonable level of fitness or mobility will be fine.

Photographic kit – street work is mostly handheld so no need for tripods or long lenses, we will tend to need faster settings. Alongside your camera and lenses, spare batteries and memory cards and a polarizing filter (reflections abound in city centres)if you have one will be fine

Clothing – we are going to be on foot so you should work on layers (always a good idea). A waterproof coat is advised – and comfy boots or walking shoes.. T shirts and fleeces are a good idea as it could be chilly or hot, often in the same hour.

Personal insurance – talking of everything being covered you might want to take out personal insurance (if you don’t have a policy already) to cover your payment if you are not able to come at the last minute as well as insurance for any damage/loss to your kit.

We will fit in a cafe or tea stop during the day.
