Streetlife - Birmingham 2022

I love  it when returning guests want to challenge themselves in a different genre of photography. If you want to really test your skills and learn new techniques then street photography or reportage is a great way to do just that.

​This week gave Adam and I a chance to see what Birmingham had to offer post commonwealth games and Tory conference as it goes back to its new normal. We weren't disappointed, especially with the bright but chilly autumnal weather. Brummies are friendly,  hardworking folk so as well as capturing some of the great architecture around the city we were after the people, the beating heart of the city at work, rest and play.

Street photography is all about the here and now. Being ultra observant and adapting to the conditions and the light. It is about being adaptable and flexible both in what you aim to do and how you approach getting that natural as well as posed image. Overall its about being a storyteller and showing the audience, whoever that might be the world as it was on that day.
